DESCRIPTION:A Level 2 / 3 course will help you to become a fun\, provocative horseman on the ground. Learn how to make ‘training’ a game for your horse.\n2 day course to include meals and snacks Saturday lunchtime through to Sunday lunchtime inclusive. \nHot showers and toilet facilities \nA stable with bedding for your horse or paddock if weather allows. \nAccommodation on site we do have a glamping pod at an extra cost that sleeps 2 people or you are welcome to sleep in the Lakehouse on camp bed or your own trailer or horsebox. \nFreestyle riding will be introduced and refined. Improving your seat connection\, communication of the basic rein and leg aids and teaching you & your horse rhythm & relaxation on a loose rein. The basic building blocks for everything you wish to do ridden. \nCourse content will vary depending on your horse and your experience & confidence\, but can cover the following: \nOnline skills \n\nLearn to how to turn ‘training’ into a game.\nTurn common challenges such as the trailer\, jumps\, water etc into fun play obstacles that your horse will seek.\nImprove your feel & timing creating softer communication.\nLearn to help your horse engage their mind and body in a more positive way.\nIdentify your horse’s horsenality and learn how to get the best from them.\nCreate confidence in your horse using specific exercises\, obstacles and differing environments.\nTeach your horse how to bring their energy up and back down again as you ask. Teach them to relax and rest when not doing anything.\nTeach your horse to find rhythm and relaxation as their responsibility in walk & trot.\n\nFreestyle Riding skills \n\nLearn natural riding dynamics to improve your position\, seat connection and communication in the saddle.\nLearn the basic rein positions: Lateral Flexion (to laterally flex the horse and yield to a stop for safety)\, Indirect Rein (to yield hind quarters)\, Direct Rein (to yield the fore quarters)\nRide a soft responsive back up and sideways.\nLearn a partial disengagement to soften the ribs and reconnect your horse for safety and control.\nLearn the basic ridden patterns to improve focus and create soft yields.\nTeach your horse to maintain rhythm and relaxation on a loose rein as their responsibility.\n\n\nBookings are via Rachael Shawyer only. Of being fun and provocative for your horse while progressing his training?\n2 day course to include meals and snacks Saturday lunchtime through to Sunday lunchtime inclusive. \nHot showers and toilet facilities \nA stable with bedding for your horse or paddock if weather allows. \nAccommodation on site we do have a glamping pod at an extra cost that sleeps 2 people or you are welcome to sleep in the Lakehouse on camp bed or your own trailer or horsebox. \nIn level 3 we explore impulsion; aka emotional fitness / collection. We build this using longer lines\, playing at liberty and riding on a loose rein. This teaches the horse to take care of their responsibilities (act like a partner\, maintain gait\, maintain direction and look where they are going)\, and teaches us humans to look after ours too\, rather than micro manage. This in turn helps us to improve our feel\, timing and balance. In Level 3 you will learn to be more provocative and fun as you train your horse\, using fun tasks and making learning more of a game. All of this results in a stronger connection\, a more trusting partnership and a much happier\, more balanced and more responsive horse. \n\nOnline Skills \n\n\n\nPlay on the 45ft line in large open areas with obstacles and varying terrain.\nRhythm\, relaxation and natural balance in canter.\nExtreme friendly games in motion.\nHunt the jump.\nTransitions and changes of direction on the 45ft line.\nMore solid maintain gait in all gaits.\nTrailer load from a distance.\n\nFreestyle Skills \n\nRidden patterns to improve impulsion\, straight lines\, turns and circles.\nRide your horse on a loose rein in walk\, trot and canter.\nCarrot stick riding.\nBackwards\, sideways\, H.Q & F.Q yields without reins.\nTurn and make transitions with your seat and natural riding dynamics.\nRhythm\, relaxation and natural balance in canter.\n‘Feel’ and get in time with your horse’s feet.\nDrop to trot lead changes.\nSmall jumps without reins.\nPartial disengagement for safety.\n\nLiberty Skills \n\nTeach your horse to catch and follow you at liberty.\nAll seven games in a round pen.\n‘Stick to me’ game.\nTransitions on a circle and change direction\, in a round pen.\nObstacles such as jumps\, tarp and pedestal.\nFig 8 in trot.\nTrailer load.\n\nSuitable for anyone studying in Level 3 or 4. \nBookings are via Rachael Shawyer only.
